Pau D’Arco Bark (Tabebuia avellanedae)

Pau D’arco Bark comes from a large shrub which can also grow to tree size in warm countries such as Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, as well as Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Starwest Botanical’s supplier for Pau D’arco Bark is located in Brazil. The shrub or tree produces clusters of tubular-shaped yellow, pink, magenta, red, lavender or white flowers that are beautiful and also provide food for bees and hummingbirds. The wood from this tree is very hard and resistant to moisture damage, and has been popular for some time as a wood used for outdoor applications.
4 oz of pau d’arco tea bags – approximately 170 tea bags per pound.
Directions:Hot Tea preparation (single serving): Bring water to a boil. Pour water over 1 tea bag. Steep 3-5 minutes. Sun Tea preparation for a half-gallon pitcher (2 qts): Use 7 tea bags for each half-gallon of water. Place tea bag in half-gallon jar filled with water. Cap jar loosely and place in sunshine. Steep 3-4 hours. Remove tea bags. Refrigerate within 1 hour. Discard left over tea after 24 hours.
